Righthander who has been one of the team's most reliable relievers...has excellent control...slated to provide innings in relief and as a spot starter in 2012...in 135.1 innings pitched over 54 appearances (seven starts) and three seasons, he has an 11-5 record, five saves, and a 3.26 ERA while allowing 133 hits (.260 opponents' batting average) and 28 walks with 94 strikeouts...has a 3.36 strikeout-to-walk ratio (sixth-best in school history) and 1.86 walks-per-nine-innings-pitched mark (second-best in school history) in his career...has not allowed more than two walks in any of his 54 career appearances...two-time All-ACC Academic selection...preseason second-team All-ACC by CollegeSportsMadness.com...ACC's returning leader in ERA from 2011.

2011: All-ACC Academic team member...had a 6-1 record, three saves, and a 2.23 ERA in 25 appearances (four starts)...in 76.2 innings pitched, he allowed 65 hits (.236 opponents' batting average) and 14 walks with 49 strikeouts...fifth in the ACC in ERA...his 1.64 walks-per-nine-innings-pitched mark was sixth-best in school history...allowed only 13 extra-base hits and three steals...in 59.1 innings pitched over his 21 relief appearances, he was 5-0 with three saves and allowed 46 hits (.220 opponents' batting average), 10 earned runs (1.52 ERA), eight extra-base hits (all doubles), and 10 walks with 38 strikeouts...in 33.2 innings pitched over 11 appearances (two starts) in non-ACC regular-season games, he was 3-0 with one save and an 0.53 ERA; he allowed just 19 hits (.174 opponents' batting average), no homers, and six walks with 23 strikeouts...in 32.0 innings pitched over his 11 appearances (one start) away from home, he was 3-0 with one save, a 1.12 ERA and allowed 22 hits (.198 opponents' batting average), two extra-base hits (both doubles), and six walks with 24 strikeouts...in 36.2 innings pitched between the fifth and seventh inning, he allowed just two earned runs (0.49 ERA)...led the team in ERA in games against NCAA Tournament teams (2.34) and top-25 ranked teams (2.86)...pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs, and no walks with one strikeout against Eastern Michigan on Feb. 18...pitched 3.0 innings in relief, allowing two hits, no runs, and no walks with two strikeouts to record the save against Eastern Michigan on Feb. 20; in 5.0 innings pitched over two relief appearances in the series, he allowed three hits, no runs, and no walks with three strikeouts...pitched 5.0 innings in a starting role, allowing four hits, one run, and one walk with two strikeouts to earn the win against Charleston Southern on Feb. 26...pitched 6.0 innings in a starting role, allowing three hits, no runs, and one walk with five strikeouts against #4 South Carolina at Greenville, SC on Mar. 8...pitched 3.0 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs, and one walk with two strikeouts against Elon on Mar. 23...pitched 3.1 innings in relief, allowing two hits, one run, and one walk with five strikeouts at N.C. 2010: All-ACC Academic team member...had a 4-4 record, two saves, and a 4.61 ERA in 22 appearances (one start)...in 41.0 innings pitched, he allowed 47 hits and 13 walks with 29 strikeouts...finished 12 games on the mound, tied for 10th-most in the ACC...had a 4-2 record and 2.30 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched over 13 appearances (one start) at home...pitched 9.0 innings before he allowed his first hit and first run of the season...pitched 2.1 perfect innings in relief with one strikeout to earn the win against Wright State on Feb. 27...pitched 4.0 innings in relief, allowing no hits, no runs, and one walk with three strikeouts to earn the win against #15 South Carolina on Mar. 5...pitched 1.2 hitless and scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts to record his first career save against Virginia Tech on Mar. 19...pitched 1.1 innings in relief with two strikeouts to record the save in the first game of a doubleheader at #1 Virginia on Mar. 27...pitched 2.2 innings in relief, allowing one run and no walks with two strikeouts to earn the win against Boston College on Apr. 4...pitched 2.0 innings in a starting role, allowing three hits, no runs, and no walks with two strikeouts to earn the win against South Carolina-Upstate on Apr. 21...pitched 2.2 innings in relief to close out the game, allowing two hits and one run against #7 Florida State on May 21...pitched a hitless and scoreless ninth inning against #16 Alabama in the Clemson Super Regional on June 13.

2009: Had a 1-0 record and 4.58 ERA in seven appearances (two starts)...in 17.2 innings pitched, he allowed just one walk with 16 strikeouts...Clemson had a 2-0 record in his two starts...in his first career outing, he pitched a scoreless inning in relief with one strikeout against Michigan State on Mar. 10...in his first career start, he pitched 4.0 innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and no walks with three strikeouts against Western Carolina on Apr. 15...pitched 5.0 innings in a starting role, allowing five hits, one run, and one walk with six strikeouts to earn his first career win against Furman at Greenville, SC (Fluor Field) on May 11...pitched a perfect inning in relief with two strikeouts against Tennessee Tech in the Clemson Regional on May 31...played for Florence in the Coastal Plain League in the summer, where he was 5-3 with a 2.57 ERA in 56.0 innings pitched over 10 appearances (eight starts); he had two complete games and allowed 46 hits and seven walks with 48 strikeouts.

Before Clemson: All-state and all-region performer at Spartanburg High School...#6 prospect in South Carolina by Impact Baseball...#2 righthander prospect in South Carolina by Diamond Prospect...had a 1.43 ERA, two saves, 68 strikeouts, and allowed 13 walks in 44.0 innings pitched (14 appearances) as a junior...lettered three times in baseball and once in swimming at Spartanburg High, where he was coached by Tom Myers.

Personal: His sister, Laura, is a freshman on the Clemson rowing team...two-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll...majoring in mechanical engineering...born David Alan Haselden on Oct. 31, 1989 in Spartanburg, SC.
