CLEMSON, SC - Clemson junior Sandra Adeleye has been named to the All-East Region Volleyball team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the third time in as many years. The AVCA chooses 14 players from nominees within each of eight regions nationally.

Alexa Rand and Serenat Yaz, also juniors, were each named Honorable Mention All-Region as well.

Adeleye led Clemson offensively with 404 kills, and a 3.39 kills per set average, while also tallying a .353 hitting percentage. The junior ranked in the top ten in the ACC in kills, kills per set, points per set, and hitting percentage.

Rand is second in the ACC in blocking and ranks among the top ten nationally, while also gathering a career-best 2.04 kills per set. Yaz averaged 3.10 kills per set, and led Clemson with 26 aces and had a 2.74 digs per set average.

With the All-East Region Honor, Adeleye is also considered an Honorable Mention All-American for the third time as well. Adeleye was also named the Region Freshman of the Year in 2009, and becomes the first player since 2009 Hall of Fame inductee and current assistant coach Jodi Steffes Welp to earn the distinction in each of her first three seasons.

Adeleye, Rand, and Yaz were each named to the All-ACC team as well, the third honor for Adeleye, and the first such honor for Rand and Yaz.

Clemson ended the season at 20-11 and 12-8 in the ACC, narrowly missing an NCAA tournament bid.
