Clemson, SC - Current Clemson sophomore Bethanie Wachna will be battling for a spot on the Canadian Olympic team this week at the country's track & field trials in Windsor, Ontario. The trials are being held Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6. Wachna will compete in the javelin on Thursday, July 3 at 3:00 PM. Wachna is a native of Windsor.

Wachna was All-ACC this past season in the javelin throw after placing third in the event at Georgia Tech. Her best collegiate performance to date was a throw of 145'11" at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, also held at Georgia Tech's facility. Wachna ranks second in Clemson history on the all-time javelin performance list.
