• TopHat won state championship in 2005 and reached Region 3 regionals in 2005, 2007 and 2008
• Grandfather, Ed Burda, played football at University of Iowa from 1957-59
• Uncle, Ed Lees, played football at Butler from 1981-84 and cousin, Sean Lees, currently plays football at Wofford College
