Emily Kuivila is also entering her second year as the Recruiting Coordinator and Director of Operations for the Tiger rowing team, however she is no stranger to the Clemson Rowing program. She was a coxswain on the team for four years. Emily is directly responsible for recruiting and coordinates all travel plans for the team.

Kuivila was the I Varsity 8+ coxswain both her junior and senior years and served as co-captain her senior year. During her four years as a Tiger Student-athlete, Kuivila won numerous awards and honors including being selected from all of Clemson's student-athletes as the recipient of the 2003 Edwards/Shingler Sportsmanship Award in recognition of good sportsmanship on and off the field of competition and for setting high standards in the classroom. She was also selected as Clemson's nominee for the 2003 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Kuivila earned all ACC honor roll recognition from 1999-2003, CRCA National scholar athlete in 2002 and 2003 as well as the CRCA First team all-region selection. In 2003 she was named to the All-ACC team and earned Clemson's Athletic Director Academic Excellence Award. Lastly, Kuivila served as the team representative for SAAB and SAFCA in 2003.

"Emily is responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, and a team player. She is willing to serve and work as a key ingredient within our coaching staff," said head coach Susie Lueck.

Kuivila is a 2003 graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management.

"The cohesiveness of the staff, combined with their commitment to guiding and encouraging female student-athletes to reach their potential academically and athletically while becoming women of strong character who will succeed in their chosen area of interest makes the Tiger's rowing program unique."
