Jody Henson enters her third year on the Clemson Lady Tiger staff. During her tenure at Clemson, the Lady Tigers have won 40 games and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament both seasons. Last season, the Lady Tigers finished 22nd in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls. Hensen comes to Clemson from Northern Arizona where she served as an assistant coach during the 1998-99 season. Northern Arizona finished 14-14 overall in 1998-99 as three freshmen and a sophomore started that year. Prior to her position at Northern Arizona she was the top assistant at Southern Utah. During that time the Thunderbirds finished fourth in their first year in the Mid-Continent Conference with a 16-12 record. Prior to her tenure at Southern Utah, Hensen spent two years at Division II Alaska-Anchorage, first as a women's assistant in 1995-96 then moving over to become the second woman to coach men at a four-year college, assisting the UAA men for the 1996-97 season. She helped the Seawolves win a conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division II Championships during that season. Hensen was a four-year letterwinner at NAU, ending her career as the school's all-time leader in three-point field goals made (92) and attempted (307), third in games played (106), fourth in trey percentage (.300), sixth in steals (120) and seventh in scoring (837). She graduated from Northern Arizona in 1995 with a degree in physical education "We are happy to have her on our staff," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Jim Davis. "She brings a wealth of enthusiam and recruiting expertise to our basketball program. She works with our perimeter players and is vital in our recruiting efforts."
