Darius Acker enters his second season as an undergraduate coach with the men's track & field program. He assists the coaching staff every day at practice, as well as takes care of the team's equipment needs. Acker works directly with the sprinters and hurdlers in terms of coaching. He also serves as team manager at competition sites, a job that encompasses such duties as directing warm-ups, distributing itineraries, and distributing meal money.

Acker is no stranger to the Tiger track & field program. He earned a pair of letters as a sprinter in 2004 and 2005. He played a key role in the quarter mile and with the 4x400m relay teams in his two years as a student-athlete.

In 2004, he ran third leg with the 4x4 at the Raleigh Relays and helped the squad to a regional-qualifying time of 3:09.18. In 2005, he anchored the Tigers' NCAA provisional qualifying 4x4 at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet.

Acker is a senior from College Park, GA and is majoring in graphic communications.
