* Dad is a 1972 graduate of Clemson University where he was a 3- year football letterman. He is a former collegiate football coach at Furman, Wofford, Tulsa, The Citadel, and Mars Hill. He is currently teaching and coaching in the Lexington district - one school system.
* Mrs. Gilstrap is a 1973 graduate of Newberry College where her father (deceased) is head football coach and athletics director emeritus. She is currently a psychology teacher at Lexington High School.
