Clemson 17th in Preseason Golf World Coaches Poll

CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson golf team is ranked 17th in the preseason Golf World Coaches poll announced on Wednesday. The Tigers finished 16th in the nation last year, the 21st top 20 season under Head Coach Larry Penley, more than any other coach in Clemson sports history.

Clemson is one of five ACC schools ranked in the top 20 of the preseason poll. Georgia Tech is the highest ranked team with a number-10 ranking. Florida State is ranked tied for 13th with Southern Cal. The Tigers are 17th, Duke is 19th and Virginia is 20th.

Clemson opens its season September 10 at the Carpet Classic in Dalton, GA.
