CLEMSON, S.C. - John Engler and Charles Warren both had under-par tournaments, leading Clemson to a third place finish at the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Tournament. The Tigers shot a team score of 862, 10 strokes behind champion TCU and three runnerup UNLV. A total of 18 teams from around the nation competed in the event, including defending NCAA champion Pepperdine, which finished last at 927.
Clemson had rounds of 279, 290 and 293. Clemson led the event after the first round thanks to the play of Engler, who shot a 69, Warren, a 70, and Jonathan Byrd, who shot a 70. Clemson's 279 team score was the low single day team score of the entire tournament. Engler finished the event with a 211 score, good enough for a tie for fourth. Warren was tied for 11th with a 213 score. Byrd had a one-over par 217. Lucas Glover had a 221 score for the event.
Jeremy Anderson of UNLV won the event with a 203 score, including a 65 in the second round, the low round of the tournament.
