Clemson, SC - Three Clemson football players are ranked in the top 20 in the nation at their respective positions according to Lindy's 2007 preseason college football magazine. Clemson opens its season September 3, Labor Day Night, against ACC rival Florida State.

Barry Richardson is the highest ranked Clemson player according to the publication. The returning All-ACC tackle is listed as the fourth best offensive lineman, but rated as a first-team All-American by the publication. Richardson is also ranked as the 45th best player in the nation regardless of position and is ranked as the best pass blocker in the ACC. He is also ranked as the third best player in the ACC regardless of position and a preseason first-team All-ACC selection.

James Davis, Clemson's top rusher last year with 1187 yards and the top touchdown scorer in the ACC with 17, is ranked as the 11th best running back in the nation by Lindy's. His teammate and fellow running back C.J. Spiller is ranked as the 17th best running back and the fourth best all-purpose player in the nation by Lindy's.
