Overview: A preseason first-team All-ACC player as chosen by Street & Smith...a second-team preseason selection by The Sporting News...also outstanding in the classroom; he has been First-Team Academic All-ACC in both 2001 and 2002...will have a chance to be just the ninth three-time, First-Team Academic All-ACC player in Clemson history in 2003...could be the first defensive lineman in Tiger history to do it...a graduate student who earned his degree in August of 2002...earned his undergrad degree in marketing...with the graduation of Nick Eason and Bryant McNeal, he will be a leader of the defensive front in 2003...returning as a starting defensive end for his third-straight year...has started 25 of last 26 games entering 2003, dating to the Gator Bowl game against Virginia Tech at the conclusion of the 2000 season...only miss was the Humanitarian Bowl when Braxton K. Williams got the start in a new defense designed to stop Louisiana Tech’s passing attack...got the starting role in the 2001 Gator Bowl when Eason was injured and could not play; he has been in the lineup ever since...has at least one tackle in 28 straight games and in 34 of his 37 career games...will have a chance to join classmate J.J. In 2002: Had 60 tackles in 2002, 10th on the Clemson team...second on the team in quarterback pressures (19) and now has 29 for his career, best among current Tigers...had four sacks to rank third on the Clemson team...had all four sacks within the first six games of the season...had four quarterback pressures in the win over Ball State...had outstanding games against SEC foes, Georgia and South Carolina; he also tied his season high with seven tackles in each game...had at least three tackles in every game...had his only career interception at Duke; it was an important play in Clemson’s comeback victory...had a caused fumble in the Ball State game...had solid all-around game in the win over Georgia Tech; he had five tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and three quarterback pressures...played 650 snaps and played at least 32 plays in every game...his low figure of the year was against rival South Carolina, as it had just 51 offensive plays in that game...had six tackles, including a sack, at Virginia...had 12 quarterback pressures over the first four games of the season...member of LifeLine, the team’s leadership organization.

In 2001: First-Team Academic All-ACC...one of the most improved players on the defense...tied for second on the team in tackles for loss (9) and sixth overall in tackles (64)...second among defensive linemen in tackles behind Jovon Bush...finished strong; he had a career-high 10 tackles at South Carolina in 62 plays...had his sacks against Florida State and Maryland...had eight tackles in a fine performance at Maryland...also had nine stops in the Wofford game...had eight tackles in 56 plays at Georgia Tech...started 11 games after starting only the bowl game for injured Nick Eason in 2000...tripled his tackle total in his sophomore year compared to his freshman year, as his playing time increased by nearly three times as well.

In 2000: Named the Defensive Rookie-of-the-Year by the Tiger coaching staff...started the Gator Bowl against Virginia Tech due to an injury to Nick Eason...had two tackles in 50 snaps against Virginia Tech...one of the most improved players on the team over the course of the season...had his best game at Florida State, with five tackles in 43 snaps; he also had a quarterback pressure in that game...had three sacks in his limited time, tied for fifth on the team...had his sacks against Missouri, Virginia, and North Carolina...had three tackles against both The Citadel and Wake Forest...saw more and more action as the season progressed; he averaged 35 plays a game over the last three contests...did not start a game, but averaged 18 tackles a game.

In 1999: Red-shirted...made the Academic Honor Roll in the spring of 2000.

In High School: Recorded a team-best 101 tackles, and had eight sacks, four fumble recoveries, and two interceptions as a senior at North Atlanta High School...also caught 28 passes for 247 yards as a tight end...All-Metro selection by Atlanta Journal Constitution...had 15 tackles, an interception, and a touchdown against South Atlanta High...recorded 12 tackles, three sacks, and an interception against Southside High in the last game of his high school career...lettered three times in football and started his last two seasons on the gridiron...coached by Mike Walker at North Atlanta High School...lettered four times in basketball, where he averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game (started at center for four seasons)...also lettered two times in track and field, where he recorded a 6’6” high-jump mark...received the October (1998) NFL Scholar-of-the-Month Award (for Atlanta)...chose Clemson over Marshall and Mississippi State...pronounced kuh-LEED...born Khaleed Vaughn on 5-20-81...earned his undergraduate degree in human resource development in August of 2002.
