Jermile Brooks, a former graduate assistant in the Clemson athletic training room, is in his fifth season working directly with the men's basketball program. Brooks returned to Clemson in the summer of 2008 after serving his alma mater College of Charleston as an assistant athletic trainer from 2005-08. Brooks handles all of the men's basketball program's athletic training needs. Clemson has compiled a 82-47 record and advanced to three NCAA Tournaments in four seasons with Brooks on board. With the Cougar program, he was the primary Athletic Trainer for men's basketball, equestrian, cross country and track & field, women's golf, and cheerleading. He also was rehab coordinator for the Johnson Center Athletic Training Room. Brooks was coordinator of inventory and budgeting of supplies, clinical instructor for student athletic trainers, and supervisor of the school's graduate interns. Brooks worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Clemson from 2001-03, where he worked with both the baseball and football teams. In his lone season working with Jack Leggett's baseball team, the 2003 Tigers compiled a 39-22 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the Auburn (AL) regional. He earned an undergraduate degree in physical education from College of Charleston in 2001 and a master's degree in educational counseling from Clemson in 2003. He is a nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC). Brooks is married to the former Haley Myers. The couple has a son, Caleb (2). |
