Career and Game-by-Game Stats
Overall:
Fine all-around student-athlete who was a recipient of the
Arthur Ashe Award last year... honor is given to all-around
student-athletes who excel in the classroom in athletics and in
community service... named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for
1999-00... winner of the team free throw percentage away last year as
a freshman, he made nearly 78 percent... brought his game to a new
level this past summer when he was a starter for the Canadian Junior
National team... scored 18 points in the first game of that
international competition and led the club in scoring two other times
on the trip... also had 19 points in a game against host Brazil and
14 in a third game in the tournament... has continued that play at
Clemson, he scored 29 points in Clemson's exhibition win over the
California All-Stars... made 7-10 three-point goals in that game,
including six in a row... was playing against a team that had a back
court of former ACC stars Drew Barry and Ed Cota... transfer from
Wyoming who went a year and a half without playing until he finally
stepped on the court for Clemson last December 16th.
In 1999-00:
Fifth on the team in scoring even though he started just
four games... played well his last two regular season games, he had
13 points in 30 minutes against Duke and Georgia Tech... made 5 of
his last 7 shots from the field... had just one turnover in his last
45 minutes... had strong game at Virginia with seven points and two
rebounds in just 11 minutes... made 76 percent of his free throws to
lead the team, including 79 percent in ACC play... played his best
game in two weeks when he had six points on 2-2 shooting in 13
minutes at Wake Forest... gave Clemson a lift off the bench, but
started four games due to injury to Edward Scott... had 16 points
against Virginia on Jan. 15 for his best game against an ACC team...
had best game against George Washington when he led the Tigers in
scoring with 19 points in 29 minutes... made three three-point goals
in that game... contributor in win over Furman with seven points and
five assists against just one turnover... made 3-6 shots at North
Carolina and had seven points... scored just three points against
South Carolina, but hit key three-point goal with two minutes left...
averaged 38 points a game in high school in Canada... had nine points
in 30 minutes at Maryland, he also had three assists.
In 1998-99:
First Canadian born basketball player for the Tigers...
was recruited to Wyoming by Coach Shyatt... suffered a broken bone in
his left (non-shooting) elbow, an injury he suffered in the summer of
1998... had surgery on the elbow in Wyoming in the fall of 1998...
recovering from the surgery when he came to Clemson so he did not
practice with the Tigers until February... received injury red-shirt
year for 1998-99, so he was considered a freshman in eligibility in
1999-00 and will still have four years to play (including 1999-00 as
a year).
In High School:
The top player in Canada in 1998 and the leading
scorer on Canada's Junior National Team... named the Athlete of the
Year in British Columbia in 1998... played on the Canadian Junior
National Team in 1998... played three years of basketball and three
years of track at Richmond High in Vancouver... played his high
school basketball for Bill Disbrow... named a Nike and Basketball
Times All-American in high school... averaged 38.4 points, 8.0
rebounds and 6.0 assists his senior year, leading Richmond High to a
31-2 record and the British Columbia Provincial Championships...
averaged 35 points a game in the playoff run to that championship...
scored a record 311 points in that tournament in 10 career games...
scored over 40 points 10 times as a senior, including over 50 three
times... had a season high 56 points against Cowichan... ranked as
the #23 high school player among North American recruits by one
service... as a junior, averaged 36.3 points a game... set a British
Columbia single game scoring record with 63 points against Wasington
High School of Seattle Washington... also averaged six rebounds and
7.4 assists as a junior... averaged 27 points, six rebounds and six
assists as a sophomore.
