CLEMSON, SC - Clemson sophomore Keni Harrison has been named ACC Women's Performer of the Week for outdoor track & field. She is a co-recipient this week with Colleen Quigley of Florida State, while Georgia Tech's Brandon Lasater claimed the men's honor.
The honor is the first of Harrison's young career. The Clayton, NC product won the 100 hurdles and helped the 4x400 relay to victory as well last weekend at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic in Alabama. She also took third place in the 400 hurdles, but was the top finisher among collegiate entries.
Harrison established a personal best in the 100 hurdles, clocking a time of 12.87. Her time moves her to No. 4 in Clemson's record books for the event. It is the second-best time in the event this season by any college athlete, trailing only teammate Brianna Rollins. In the 400 hurdles, Harrison opened in the event for the first time in 2013 with a sizzling time of 57.20 - seventh-best in the NCAA. She ended the day running lead leg for the 4x4, which turned in a solid time of 3:34.43.
The ACC Performer of the Week honor is the fourth collected by a Clemson track & field athlete this outdoor season. Dezerea Bryant, Brunson Miller and Rollins have all won the honor in previous weeks.
