DAVIDSON, NC - Clemson and Davidson played to a 0-0 tie in a men's intercollegiate soccer match at Davidson, NC Monday night.  Clemson is now 1-0-1 on the year, while tonight's match opened the 2012 season for the Wildcats.

In the first overtime period, Clemson's Iain Smith's shot in the 92nd minute was high.  Davidson had two attempts on goal early in the first overtime period.  The Wildcat's Brian Mcgue took a shot that was saved by Cody Mizell in the 93rd minute of play.

After a corner kick by Davidson's Alex Givens, Luke Blades took a shot that was also saved by Mizell.  Mizell finished the night with four saves.

Stockinger took a shot in the 96th minute that was saved by Pacifici, and just moments later Savage took a shot that was also saved.  With only :15 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, the Wildcat's Chris Pettiglio took a header that sailed high over the goal.

In the second overtime period, Clemson's Matt Erasmus took a shot that was blocked by a Wildcat defender with 2:15 left to go.  This was the only shot for the Tigers in the second overtime period.  Davidson also had a shot blocked for their only attempt as both teams' defenses played very stingily in the second overtime period.
