Leslie Hasselbach brings a contagious energy to the pool deck and has a reputation for developing strong relationships with her student-athletes, acting as a mentor in and out of the pool.

Coach Ip said, "Leslie is the cornerstone of the program. She is the longest tenured staff member on board, she knows the ins and outs and the philosophy of Clemson University. We rely on her a lot. She does an unbelievable job of keeping us on track as a staff."

Hasselbach is entering her tenth year as diving coach for the Tigers. For the 2009-10 season, Hasselbach will have a good mix of experience and youth to compete in the ACC.

During the 2008-09 season, junior David Giambra continued his success as he set school records in the platform and the one-meter and three-meter. He also had an eighth place finish in the one-meter at the ACC's. Freshmen Cassie Self and Brooke George got their Clemson careers off to a great start as they both are in Clemson's top 6 in the one and three meter events.

In the 2007-08 season, senior Academic All-ACC member Dani Kazilionis took bronze on the one-meter boards at ACCs. Several Tigers notched top-16 finishes in the various events. Juniors David Giambra and Stephanie Fura each set school records on the three-meter boards. Giambra and Kazilionis also became the first two divers in Tiger history to score in all three diving events at ACCs.

During the 2005-06 season, senior Shastin Leathers stepped up and broke her own school record on the one-meter board. Leathers qualified for the NCAA Zone "B" Regional in the spring with the record-breaking score. Hasselbach saw the rest of her team improve, as seven other Tiger divers had career best scores. In addition, Jessica Watcke was named to the 2006 NCAA Honorable Mention Academic All-American squad.

During her fifth season as Clemson's Diving coach, Hasselbach coached her divers to six top 16 finishes, and one top eight finish. Hasselbach also coached Eric Shulick to his second straight Honorable mention Academic All-American honors.

In 2003-04 Shulick won the ACC Championship on the one-meter board for the Tigers. It was the first ACC title for a diver under Hasselbach, and the first for any Clemson diver since the 1996 season. Shulick and Jessica Watcke represented the Tigers at the 2004 NCAA Zone Diving Regional Championships. Both divers set school records in the one-meter board during the 2003-04 season.

During the 2002-03 season, Hasselbach coached Shulick to the Tigers' first appearance in the NCAA Diving Championships since the 1988 season. He was named a 2003 CSCAA Academic All-American and was a member of the All-ACC team after finishing second in the one-meter at the 2003 ACC Championships.

Hasselbach served as the head diving coach at the University of Toledo from 1998-2000. Hasselbach was actually the head diving coach while finishing her undergraduate degree. She oversaw the rebuilding of the Rockets diving program, and more than tripled the squad size in her last two years. In her two-year stint at Toledo, Hasselbach coached four Mid-American Conference diving finalists and two MAC All-Academic team members. She also had three divers qualify for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

Hasselbach earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Sciences from the University of Toledo in 1999. She graduated from Clemson in May 2008 with a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling with an emphasis in Student Affairs Administration.

In addition to her academic work, Hasselbach is U.S. Diving Safety Certified, she is a member of the U.S. Diving Association and the Professional Diving Coaches Association. She is also CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. Hasselback aslo serves on the NCAA Diving subcommiette representing Zone B.
