Linda White is in her fifth year as the Director of Community Relations for the Clemson University Athletic Department. Before taking this job she was the associate athletic director and Senior Women's Administrator. In her newly created position, she develops and implements strategies to integrate Clemson University Athletics Department and its athletes with the surrounding community. White collaborates with local businesses and community entities to showcase Clemson's programs and achievements. This also provides opportunities for athletes to perform community service.

White coordinates the Solid Orange Squad, a group of student-athlete volunteers who respond to all requests for service. She has also initiated the Be a T.I.G.E.R! character education program which features lessons and activities used by student-athletes to promote character development. Aimed at elementary and middle school students, this original concept features personal appearances, a field day, a newspaper, an e-mail buddy program and a new book club called T.I.G.E.R! Read.

White came to Clemson in 1986 as the head volleyball coach. She had a record of 138-81 in eight years, including six straight 20-win years. She coached at least one All-ACC player five of her six years, while two of her former players were named Academic All-Americans. She also coached Denise Murphy-Stadelmeir who was named to the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1999.

Prior to her stint as volleyball coach at Clemson, White was a successful basketball and volleyball coach at Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, SC for 14 years. In 1982, she was named National Volleyball Coach-of-the-Year by the National High School Coaches Association.

In 2003, she was named as South Carolina's Pathfinder Award winner for contributions in athletics. In the media's 30-year review of Title IX, she was recognized as one of the 10 women who made an impact in South Carolina. White earned her undergraduate degree from Winthrop She earned an M.E. in administration and supervision from Clemson in May 1988. She is married to Roger White. They have one child, Slater Martin White (13). Their daughter, Lucia, lost her life in an auto accident in 1995.
