MLB Tigers Season Wrapup

Five former Tigers played in the major leagues in 2017. Included in the list was first-year major leaguer Daniel Gossett. Veterans Mike Freeman, Dominic Leone, Brad Miller and Tony Sipp also saw action in the majors in 2017.

As one of the league's most valuable utility players, Freeman (2008-10) played with the Mariners, Dodgers and Cubs in 2017. In 35 games in all, he totaled a homer, two doubles and six runs.

Gossett (2012-14) made his MLB debut in 2017 with the Athletics and pitched 91.1 innings over 18 starts. He had 72 strikeouts against 31 walks.

Leone (2010-12) rebounded to have a strong 2017 season with the Blue Jays. He was 3-0 with a save and allowed just 51 hits and 23 walks with 81 strikeouts in 70.1 innings pitched over 65 relief appearances.

Miller (2009-11) played his fifth season in the majors and second with the Rays in 2017. In 110 games, he totaled nine homers, three triples, 13 doubles, 40 RBIs and five steals.

Sipp (2004) played his ninth MLB season in 2017 and fourth with the Astros. He made 46 relief appearances and amassed 39 strikeouts against 16 walks in 37.1 innings pitched. In his MLB career, Sipp is 22-19 with seven saves, a 3.83 ERA and 471 strikeouts against 199 walks in 444.0 innings pitched over 526 relief appearances.
