CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Fresh off the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Clemson now begins the outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18. The meet is set to take place at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Tigers will compete in their first outdoor event at 11:00 a.m., when Danielle Borriello competes in the women’s hammer throw. The first event on the track is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., as Markeeta Thomas will represent the Tigers in the 100 meter hurdles.
Saturday’s events begin with the shot put and the 10,000 meter run both slated to start at 10:00 a.m.
This outdoor season, Clemson’s women look to be in the mix again for another ACC Championship as it has finished in the top three at the outdoor championships in six of the last seven years, winning the meet five times.
