SPORT UPDATES

Baseball (@ClemsonBaseball)
Record: 24-15, 12-8 ACC
The Tigers won three of four games last week, including two wins at Pittsburgh in the first-ever meetings between the two schools. Clemson defeated the Panthers 3-2 in 11 innings Friday, then Daniel Gossett tossed a three-hit shutout in the Tigers' 3-0 win Saturday. Both Garrett Boulware and Tyler Krieger went 10-for-17 at the plate in four games last week. The Tigers play five home games this week, starting Tuesday night against Liberty.

Men's Golf (@ClemsonMensGolf)
Clemson finished second at the Wolfpack Spring Open this past Sunday. The tournament was reduced to just 18 holes due to the weather in the Raleigh area. Clemson was led by Cody Proveaux, Stephen Behr and Austin Langdale with rounds of one over par 73. The three Tigers tied for eighth place individually.

Clemson finished second to ACC rival Virginia, who scored a 292 as a team, three strokes better than the Tigers. Clemson finished second among the four ACC schools in the field.
From that standpoint it was good preparation for the Clemson men, who will compete in the ACC Championships this weekend (Friday-Sunday) at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.

Clemson will take three sophomores and two freshmen to the ACC Tournament.  The sophomores include Proveaux, Behr and Miller Capps, while the freshmen are former high school teammates Langdale and Carson Young.

Women's Golf (@ClemsonWGolf)
J.T. Horton's ladies finished in a tie for ninth place at the ACC Championships at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., over the weekend. Ashlan Ramsey led Clemson with a 225 team score and 15th place finish. Sloan Shanahan had a 25th place finish at 229.

It was the final regular season event for Clemson. On Monday, April 28, Clemson expects to receive an NCAA regional bid.  In the women's tournament there are three 24-team regional tournaments.  Currently eight of the top 30 teams in the nation according to the Golfweek rankings are from the ACC.

Last Thursday, Ramsey announced that she will turn professional at the end of this season.

Rowing (@ClemsonRowing)
The 18th-ranked women's rowing team battled the weather and tough competition at the Clemson Invite on Saturday and Sunday. The Tigers won two races on Saturday and recorded two second-place finishes on Sunday. The First Varsity 4+ was likely the top Clemson boat for the two days with a win and a second-place finish. The 1V4 has only finished lower than second just once in nine races this season. Clemson returns to the water on May 3 when they travel to seventh-ranked Princeton in its final competition before the ACC Championships.

Men's Tennis (@ClemsonMTennis)
Record: 19-7, 6-5
The 20th-ranked Tigers concluded the regular season with a 5-2 win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta Friday night. Clemson's doubles team of Hunter Harrington and Dominique Maden improved to 19-1 in dual matches with a win over the Yellow Jackets, and is currently ranked 17th nationally. The Tigers are the No. 5 seed and will open play in the 2014 ACC Men's Tennis Championships Thursday against No. 12 seed Boston College. The match will begin at 12 p.m. at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C.

Women's Tennis (@ClemsonWTennis)
Record: 20-5, 12-2 ACC
The women's tennis team took down No. 1 Duke and No. 7 North Carolina last week to earn a share of the ACC regular season championship, the program's first since 2007. It was just the second time in school history that the Tigers beat consecutive top-ten opponents, and the first time ever beating a top-ranked team. The Tigers have earned the No. 4 seed in the ACC Championships, which begin this week in Cary, N.C. Clemson opens play in the quarterfinals on Friday at 9 a.m.

Track and Field (@CUTrackandField)
The Tiger women finished ninth and the men were 11th at the ACC Outdoor Championships last weekend in Chapel Hill. Five athletes earned all-conference honors, led by Mimi Land who earned a silver medal in the high jump and bronze in the triple jump. She was also named the ACC's Most Valuable Field Performer at the conclusion of the meet, the fifth straight year that distinction has been awarded to a Tiger female. Marcus Brown (shot put), Whitney Fountain (long jump), Torian Ware (high jump) and Marlena Wesh (400) also earned All-ACC medals. The Tigers resume outdoor season this weekend at the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Volleyball (@ClemsonVB)
Kelly Audia joins the Clemson volleyball staff as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator as announced by Head Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover on Friday. Audia has spent the previous four seasons at Georgia State, the last two of which he served as Associate Head Coach.
