Paul Hogan enters his 6th year at Clemson serving as Senior Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach under Joey Batson. Previously, Hogan coached as a volunteer assistant at the University of Georgia (2001), a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama (2002–04), a graduate assistant at Clemson University (2005–06), and the football strength and conditioning coach at Samford University (2007-2012), where he oversaw all aspects of training for the Samford football team.

Hogan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication (2000) and a Master’s degree in management from the University of Alabama in December 2004. He is a Certified Strength and Condi­tioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In May 2007, he became a Certified Sports Nutrition Consultant (CSNC) through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA).

Hogan was a four-year starter at center with the University of Alabama from 1997–2000. He was a three-time All-SEC pick and All-American at center. He started 44 of 45 career games and earned Academic All-SEC honors two years. He was the starting center on the 1999 SEC Championship team. Hogan was selected as a team captain his senior season, a campaign which also saw him win the Pat Trammell Leadership Award for most outstanding leadership. In 2000, Hogan signed a free-agent contract with the Oakland Raiders before going to coach at the University of Georgia.

Hogan is a native of Valdosta, Georgia, where he attended Valdosta High School. He is married to the former Jennifer Rouzie, and the couple has two sons, Rouzie and JT.
