Philip Sikes
Position: Associate SID
Philip Sikes is in his ninth year as a full-time staff member of the Clemson sports information office, his fifth as associate sports information director. He is in his eighth season in charge of the day-to-day publicity efforts for men’s basketball, which includes the production of the team media guide, supervising press row and the in-game statistics crew, preparing news releases, and coordinating interviews with players and coaches.

The Aiken, SC native worked as a student intern and graduate assistant in the SID office prior to his full-time appointment in August of 2004.  He has been involved with men’s basketball and the track & field programs since 2005. Sikes is also the primary computer statistician for home football games.

As a graduate assistant, he designed the 2004 golf media guide with head SID Tim Bourret, and the publication was judged second in the nation by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).  Both his track & field media guides were judged sixth in the nation by CoSIDA in 2007, while the men’s track & field media guide was second-best in the nation in 2008.  In 2007, Sikes earned the Bob Bradley Award for outstanding support of the men’s basketball program through his work efforts.  In 2012, his men’s basketball media guide was voted fourth-best in the nation by CoSIDA.

Sikes earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson in 2002 in parks, recreation, & tourism management. He completed his master’s degree in human resource development in 2004.

He and his wife Jocelyn reside in Easley, SC and have two sons, Ryan (4) and Dylan (2).  Jocelyn is a nurse practitioner at Clemson Family Medicine.
