Kathy Becker is in her fifth season as Director of Basketball Operations for the Clemson women’s basketball program. Becker is responsible for coordinating travel, scheduling, budgeting and camps, among other responsibilities.
Becker came to Clemson in the spring of 2013 after spending the previous nine seasons as an assistant coach on Audra Smith’s staff at UAB. Becker assisted the Blazers to 74 wins over her final four seasons on staff, and coached one Conference USA Player-of-the-Year and one CUSA Rookie-of-the-Year selection, as well as 39 academic all-conference honorees, during her tenure at UAB.
Prior to her time in Birmingham, Becker was a graduate assistant under the legendary Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee. The Vols played in two NCAA Championship games during her time in Knoxville, and Becker assisted with the recruitment of the program’s 2003 recruiting class, which was ranked No. 1 in the nation and included four players that went on to play in the WNBA.
Becker played basketball at Virginia from 1998-2002 and earned an undergraduate degree in Commerce and a minor in Economics, from the university in 2002. The native of Boyertown, Pa. is married to Pete Becker, and the couple has two sons, Paxton and Colt.
