Rendrick Taylor is entering his second year at Clemson as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. Prior to his return to Clemson, Taylor was a Sports Performance coach at GodSpeed Elite in Jacksonville, FL. He trained high school athletes, D1 football players, and professional athletes. He is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certified through USA Weightlifting.
Taylor, a native of Clio, is a graduate of Marlboro County High School. He lifted competitively for the Iron Bulldogs of Marlboro County. During his senior year, he won the best lifter award with numbers of 365 bench press, 450 squat, and 330 power clean. Taylor was a four-year football letterman for Clemson University. He was an un-drafted free agent for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played fullback for the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League. Taylor finished third in the league in rushing with 227 yards as a rookie for the Sharks.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education from Clemson University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Community Recreation and Sports Management. Taylor is married to the former Brooke Orr of McConnells, SC. The couple has a daughter, Virginia Ren.
