Philip Sikes is in his 12th year as a full-time staff member of the Clemson Athletic Communications Office. He is in his 11th season in charge of the day-to-day publicity efforts for men’s basketball and also serves as the primary contact for men's and women's track and field and rowing. He is also the secondary media contact for the Tiger football program.
The Aiken, S.C., native worked as a student intern and graduate assistant in the sports information office prior to his full-time appointment in August 2004. He has been involved with men’s basketball and the track & field programs since 2005. Sikes has also been the primary computer statistician for home football and men's basketball games.
As a graduate assistant, he designed the 2004 golf media guide with head SID Tim Bourret, and the publication was judged second in the nation by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). In 2007, Sikes earned the Bob Bradley Award for outstanding support of the men’s basketball program through his work efforts. In 2012, his men’s basketball media guide was voted fourth-best in the nation by CoSIDA. A year later, the publication was named number 1.
Sikes earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson in 2002 in parks, recreation, & tourism management. He completed his master’s degree in human resource development in 2004.
He and his wife Jocelyn reside in Clemson and have two sons, Ryan (7) and Dylan (4). Jocelyn is a nurse practitioner for AnMed Health.
