IN THE NEWS


MIAO ALREADY HAS HER UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE

Yuilynn Miao will conclude her first two semesters of graduate school in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management this May. On Friday, May 9, 2014, she earned her undergraduate degree from Clemson. Earlier, on the same day, the Tigers defeated UNC Wilmington 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

  • Pursuing a master's degree in PRTM
  • Graduated May 2014
  • Career Singles Record: 37-22 (26-6 in duals, 20-6 ACC)
  • Career Doubles Record: 38-20 (26-13 in duals, 15-5 ACC)
  • Has won four-straight matches entering Friday's Senior Day contest vs. Notre Dame

  • Compiled 14-10 singles mark, including 5-2 record at No. 5

  • Won seven of final nine singles matches and 13 of final 15 doubles matches
  • Helped Tigers win doubles point vs. #8 Cal, #11 Michigan, and #15 Vandy

SPRING 2013 (as a freshman)

  • Went 16-10 in singles, including a 7-3 ACC record
  • Was 3-2 at No. 4, 6-5 at No. 5, and 2-1 at No. 6
  • Posted 19-12 doubles record, which included 11 wins at No. 3
  • With Jeukeng, clinched doubles point against Georgia in Sweet 16
  • Won her singles match against Ashleigh Antal, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to help Clemson advance to the Sweet 16

FALL 2012 (as a freshman)

  • Ranked as No. 53 doubles team nationally with Beatrice Gumulya
  • Went 4-2 in singles and 4-2 in doubles in the fall
  • With Romy Koelzer, won the third flight doubles title at the Roberta Allison Classic
BEFORE CLEMSON
  • Yui “Ani” Lynn Miao is the former No. 1 junior in Taiwan
  • Top-ten women’s open ranking
  • Played on the Taiwan Junior National Team,
  • Represented Taiwan in the Senior Fed Cup in 2011
  • Full name is Yui-Lynn Miao
