Overview: Senior veteran of the Clemson women’s golf team who has played in more tournaments and more rounds than any other Tiger…has played in 28 of the 30 tournaments over the last three years…only Tiger to play in the ACC Tournament each of the last three years…best in Clemson history in terms of driving the ball in the fairway, she was at 91.3 percent as a freshman, 95 percent as a sophomore and 95 percent as a junior…she has been in the top five of the nation all three years, including second in 2015-16…has 77.56 stroke average for her career…had career best finish at Furman Invitational when she was fifth playing as an individual…had career best 218, two over par…tied Clemson record for low round with a 68 at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. on September 15, 2014…mark has since been broken by Alice Hewson... has 27 career rounds at 75 or better and her score has counted toward Clemson’s team score 45 times.
In 2015-16: Ranked sixth on the team in stroke average with 77.30…her two best performances were as an individual, she was a career best fifth at Furman where she had a 218, two over par…had a third round 71 for her best round of the year…finished 31st at Clemson Invitational, she had three straight rounds of 75 or better… shot 73 in final round at Cougar Classic in first tournament of the year to help Clemson finish strong with a 291 final round and fifth-place team finish against a national field…only Lauren Stephenson had a better final round than Hoang that day…started the spring well, she tied as Clemson’s best golfer at Puerto Rico with a 10 over par 226…had even par 72 in the second round and one over par 73 in third round...Clemson’s best player the last two rounds at Puerto Rico by 10 shots…was playing well at Sugar Bowl, but had to withdraw during final round due to injury…had to miss the next tournament….had 76.14 stroke average in the final round this year…averaged 3.18 on par three holes…had one eagle and 41 birdies…score counted in 9 of the 17 rounds she played for the team…had best round of the two twice and best tournament once….averaged 31.65 putts per round.
In 2014-15: Played in all 27 rounds and nine tournaments as a sophomore…had 76.44 stroke average for the year, fourth on the team….most improved player on the team, she lowered her stroke average by 3.5 shots per round over her freshman year…12 of her 27 rounds were at 75 or better…highlight of the year came in her second round of the year when she shot four-under-par 68 at Yeamans Hall in Hanahan, S.C. to tie Ashlan Ramsey’s record for low round by a Clemson women’s golfer…shot a season low 222 for the three rounds and was Clemson’s best golfer for the tournament…also Clemson’s best golfer at two events in the spring, the Sun Trust Gator, where she was 30th, and the Rebel Intercollegiate, where she was 32nd…Rebel Intercollegiate was her most consistent tournament as she shot 74-75-75, the only tournament she had three straight rounds of 75 or better…finished eight over par, her second best tournament vs. par all year…had 75.7 stroke average in first rounds and 76.6 in final rounds…had 40 birdies for the year, second on the team…her score counted in 23 of 27 rounds…had best score of the day six times and was best Tiger in three events…led the team in driving accuracy at 95 percent, second straight year she was among the best in the nation in putting the ball in the fairway….averaged 30.06 putts per round, third on the team.
In 2013-14: Starter in every tournament for the 14th ranked (Golfstat) Tigers... fifth in stroke average with 78.91 figure, but her final round stroke average was nearly two shots per round better than her first round average (77.4)...led the Tigers in birdies at the ACC Tournament with seven, she had 52 for the year...her score counted 13 of 32 rounds, including twice in the ACC Tournament...her score counted in the final round of seven of the 11 events...had one of her best round of the year in her first round, a 73 at the Cougar Classic at Yeaman's Hall in Hanahan, S.C...also shot a 73 in the second round at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, helping the Tigers to a top five finish out of 17 teams...had her best tournament vs. par at the Allstate Sugar Bowl with 10 over par 226...played last 36 holes at two over par in New Orleans...had best finish in full field event at Lady Paladin with 41st place finish...hit it in the fairway on her drives 91.3 percent of the time, third best on the team and fifth best in the nation according to Golfstat.
Prior to Clemson: Played for United States team in the 2012 Can American Matches in 2012...had five top 15 finishes in AJGA events in 2012...finished 10th at AJGA Juniors at Savannah in 2012...had five top 10s in 2011, six of which were top three finishes...won the EZ Go Vaughn Taylor Championship and third at AJGA Junior at Chateau Elan...won four tournaments in 2011, including the Beth Daniel Junior Azalea, the AJGA Junior at Jones Creek, the Carolinas Junior PGA and the Ballantyne Junior Open...2009 Augusta Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010...at age 14, she was the youngest player in 36 years to win the Carolinas Junior PGA....born May 1, 1995.
