CLEMSON, S.C. – Freida Lim, a freshman for the Clemson diving team in 2016-17, represented Singapore at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary from July 14-19. Lim was one of approximately 250 divers from 44 different countries to compete in the event.
Lim competed in three events at the World Championships, the 10m platform, the mixed 10m synchro platform and the mixed team event. She placed 34th in the 10m platform with 237.10 points. In the mixed team event and the mixed 10m synchro platform, she and teammate Jonathan Chan placed 14th and 15th, respectively, scoring 302.85 in the mixed team event and 250.68 in the 10m synchro platform.
The native of Singapore is one of the most decorated divers in Tiger diving history. She finished second in the platform competition at the 2017 ACC Championships, and became the first Clemson diver to earn All-ACC honors since 2008. Lim placed 10th in the platform at the NCAA Zone B Championships, the best finish in Clemson diving program history at an NCAA Zone Championship meet.
