CLEMSON, S.C. - Two Tigers earned All-South Region honors while 11 were named a National Scholar-Athlete by the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) on Tuesday. Clemson's 11 National Scholar-Athletes is tied for the second most in the country.

Sophomore Milena Heuer was named first-team All-South Region with sophomore Paula Wesselmann receiving second-team honors. Both were named All-South Region for the time in their respective careers. Coincidentally, both Heuer and Wesselmann hail from Germany.

This marks the seventh straight season and 11th year overall that Clemson has had multiple All-South Region honorees. The Tigers had no less than four rowers selected to the two teams combined from 2008-2012.

Wesselmann was also one of 11 Clemson rowers named a National Scholar-Athlete. She is the third Tiger since 2011 to earn both honors in the same season. Her 2013 teammate, Laura Basadonna, was the last to do so taking home both honors in addition to being named a first-team All-American last season.

Of the 10 remaining Clemson honorees, Stephannie Allen, Laura D'Urso, Samantha Duggan, Jackie Kovach and Giulia Longatti were each selected for the second time. Erin Ferguson, Julie Gilbert, Rebecca Kretzer, Emily Mutschler, Anna Skochdopole and Wesselmann rounded out the group with their first-time selections.

The 11 National Scholar-Athlete selections led all ACC schools and trailed only Tennessee nationally, which had 12 honorees. The 11 Tigers to receive the honor are also tied for the second most in school history. Both the 2014 and 2008 squads had 11 selections while the 2007 team set the record with 14.
