CLEMSON, SC - Clemson went 1-2-3 in the women's triple jump Saturday to highlight the final day of action at the Bob Pollock Classic. In all, Clemson athletes won five events on Saturday at the school's indoor track complex.
The top three in the triple jump were separated by a mere three centimeters (1.25"). Anasterasia Terrell was the (41'1"), while Mimi Land (41'0.25") was runner-up. Another freshman, Iana Amsterdam, took third place in 40'11.75".
Reggie Lewis won the men's 60 dash, with times of 6.73 in the prelim and 6.75 in the final Saturday. Justin Johnson competed in the 60 hurdles and finished fourth, after posting a best of 8.03 in the preliminary round.
Malayshia George was runner-up in the women's 400 dash with a time of 54.99, a season-best by any Tiger female in the quarter mile. She was then part of the 4x400 relay that ran a time of 3:47.90 to take first place Saturday.
Jack Felix picked up a win for the Tigers in the men's 3K Saturday. Clemson placed two runners in the top five of the women's mile with sub-5:00 times. Natalie Anthony led the way with a time of 4:57.98 and fourth-place showing. Alexa Womack was right behind with a time of 4:59.75. Aaron Gambrell was the leader in the men's mile with a third-place time of 4:19.09. Aaron Ramirez also was third in the men's 800 meters at 1:53.
The Tigers return to action next week in New York City at the prestigious Armory Collegiate Invitational. Clemson's next home competition will take place Feb. 28 through Mar. 1 when the Tigers host the ACC Indoor Championships.
