Clemson Claims Eight Wins at Auburn Tiger Track Classic
Capturing individual wins for the Tiger men's team on Saturday were Warren Fraser in the 100 dash, Brunson Miller in the 400 dash, Spencer Adams in the 110 hurdles, Ty McCormack in the 1500 meters, and Jameel Abdul-Mateen in the long jump.
Miller recorded a personal best with a winning time of 45.93, sixth-best in Clemson history. Adams won his event with a time of 13.40 - his second-best on record - despite a headwind. Abdul-Mateen and recorded a personal best in his win, taking the sixth spot in the Clemson record books. Fraser, who ran a season-best 10.34 to win the 100, and Miller both added a second victory with the Tigers' 4x100 relay. The group ran a time of 40.02.Miller recorded a personal best with a winning time of 45.93, sixth-best in Clemson history.
McCormack coasted to a time of 3:45.67, just outside the top 10 in school history, in his 1500-meter victory.
Natalie Anthony and Keni Harrison picked up individual wins for the women's team Saturday. Anthony was outstanding in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:41.41 - eighth in school history. She won by over 10 seconds. Harrison won the 100 hurdles with a personal best 12.87 with a good tailwind. She also took third in the 400 hurdles with a season-best (57.20).
The women added four runner-up finishes Saturday. Dezerea Bryant was second place in the 100 dash with a time of 11.43. She also helped the 4x100 relay to a runner-up spot and time of 44.29.
On Friday, senior Brittney Waller was the story. She finished second in the women's hammer throw with a personal best effort of 188'3" on her first attempt. Her mark is No. 4 in the Clemson record books, and easily puts her among the top 48 in the East Region.
