No. 17 Clemson Sweeps Oregon State on Sunday
REDWOOD SHORES, CA - The 17th-ranked Clemson women's rowing team swept Oregon State in four races in Redwood Shores, CA on Sunday. The Tigers get their second sweep of the season.
"I am very proud of our team," said Clemson Head Coach Robbie Tenenbaum. "We raced great this morning against a strong Oregon State team, and we had a fantastic finish to a great weekend of racing at Redwood Shores. Our team has pretty high goals this season, and we are looking forward to getting back to work this week."
The 1st Varsity 8+ started the day with their first victory of the weekend with a time of 6:35.3 ahead of the Beavers' time of 6:47.4. The 2nd Varsity 8+ then followed with a first-place time of 6:43.9 over the Oregon State time of 6:57.8.
The Tigers' 1st Varsity 4+ then took their second first-place finish of the weekend with a time of 7:40.1 ahead of the Beavers' 1V4 with a time of 7:44.6. Clemson then completed the sweep with a victory in the 1st Novice 8 race with a 7:06.1 time ahead of Oregon State in second with a time of 7:09.1.
The Tigers finished the weekend with six first-place finishes in 12 races over two days.
Clemson will return to action on Saturday, April 13 when they travel to Cambridge, MA to take on Boston University, Dartmouth and Yale starting at 8:00 AM.
