GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Tigers finished tied for sixth and Ashlan Ramsey finished runner-up at the Bryan National Collegiate that concluded today.

Duke won the three-day tournament after leading all three rounds and finished with a three-day total of 882, 18 shots over par. South Carolina followed with a 903, co-host Wake Forest came in third with a 905, Florida State came in fourth with a 906 and Virginia finished fifth with a 909. Clemson and Louisville finished tied for sixth with a three-day total of 913.

The Champion’s Course at the Bryan Park Golf and Enrichment Center was tough and the teams battled nasty weather all three days. The field was also very competitive, with 28 players in the top 100 coming into the tournament.

Ashlan Ramsey finished runner-up with a three-day total of 217. She shots a two over par 74, following rounds of 72 and 71 respectively. Duke’s Celine Boutier beat her by a single stroke to take the individual title. Sloan Shanahan shot a 77 to give her a three-day total of 231, Lauren Salazar shot a 79 to also give her a three-day total of 231, Jessica Hoang shot an 80 to give her a three-day total of 239, McKenzie Talbert shot an 82 to give her a three-day total of 236.

This is the first of eight tournaments the Tigers have not finished in fifth or better, an amazing feat for a team in their inaugural season with a lineup full of freshman. The team will have a few weeks off from competition before heading to Greensboro to compete in the ACC tournament April 17-19th.
