Original walk-on who has been a reserve quarterback ... is 8-10 passing for 53 yards in 47 snaps over eight games in his career ... has completed 80.0 percent of his passes and has a 124.5 pass efficiency rating.

2014: Was 7-8 passing for 47 yards in 38 snaps over five games ... completed 87.5 percent of his passes and had a 136.9 pass efficiency rating ... was 2-2 passing for 11 yards and had a 12-yard carry against SC State on Sept. 6 ... was 4-4 passing for 19 yards at No. 23 Georgia Tech on Nov. 15 ... was 1-2 passing for 17 yards against Georgia State on Nov. 22.

2013: Was 1-2 passing for six yards and had a five-yard carry in nine snaps over three games ... was 1-2 passing for six yards and had a five-yard carry against SC State on Sept. 7; it was his first career game ... played one snap at Virginia on Nov. 2 ... was 21-34 passing for 220 yards in the Spring Game.

2012: Redshirted ... sat out due to NCAA transfer rules.

Before Clemson:  Originally signed with Mississippi State...had a 25 - 3 career record as the starting quarterback at Grayson High in Georgia’s highest classification….listed among Score’s 44 of leading Senior prospects… led the Grayson Rams through a 15 - 0 season, with an 8 - 0 Region 8 record and title, then a five-win run through the Class 5A state playoff teams…in the state semifinals, he avenged a loss to Colquitt County as he drove the Rams 87 yards for the winning touchdown pass with 28 seconds left…. completed 9 of 14 for 149 yards and two touchdowns in the victory….his team switched to a spread-option running offense for his senior season, but he still completed 121 - 180 passes in 15 games for 1,753 yards, with 21 touchdowns against just 3 interceptions… also rushed for five touchdowns and 297 yards….. named to the Gwinnett County All-Star team and led his team to a 31 - 24 win with two touchdown passes…. senior year, he was presented the Manuel Maloof Award given to a player who places his team above himself….received both All-County and All State honors/recognition his Senior Year, and in 2011, was named the Georgia Offensive Player of the Year….as a junior starter, he directed the Rams to the State 5A semifinals…..part of the 2009 Grayson team that posted at 12 - 1 record, and Region 8 championship.
