CLEMSON, SC - The 14th-ranked Clemson women's rowing team second and third respectively in their two official races on Sunday in third and final session on the Clemson Invite on Lake Hartwell.
"I think we did a great job this weekend," said Clemson Head Coach Robbie Tenenbaum. "I am thrilled with how our team is performing. We are moving forward and looking to take the next step and making the NCAA Championships."
Clemson's 1st Varsity 8+ started the day with a tight race against Louisville. The Cardinals were able to edge out the Tigers at the end finishing with a time of 6:46.7 and 6:47.9, respectively.
The Tigers' 2nd Varsity 8+ then finished third behind Cornell in first and Oklahoma in second. The Tigers' 2V8 recorded a time of 7:13.9 in that race.
Following the 1st Varsity 4's race at 8:49 AM, the wind began to pick up and made it difficult for boats to lock on to the starting dock. Therefore, boats we forced to do a rolling start but all the races after the 8:49 AM are unofficial and the results will not be counted.
The Tigers' 1st Varsity 4+, 1st Novice 8+, 2nd Varsity 4+ and 2nd Novice 8+ all competed but will not have official results for their races.
Clemson will return to the water when they host the ACC Championships on May 12 on Lake Hartwell at 9:00 AM.
