Position: Director of Video Services

Rick Bagby is in his 17th year overseeing the Athletic Video Services Department for Clemson University.  In the Summer of 2014 he added the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Video and Technology, reflecting the ever growing importance that both technology and video play in collegiate athletics.

Bagby oversees all live video streaming and live video board productions for  Clemson athletic events.  In the 2014-15 academic year his department produced over 125 live sporting events and press conferences.  These events are produced for video boards in Death Valley, Historic Riggs Field, Littlejohn Coliseum and Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

On-line this content is available either on clemsontigers.com or through a partnership with ESPN3.

Bagby's technology duties have taken on a whole new meaning with construction projects in Memorial Stadium, Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Riggs Field and Littlejohn Coliseum.  Bagby is focused on the fan experience, student-athlete experience and live production technology needs in each project.

Bagby oversees three full time staff members and approximately 15 students. His department is also responsible for many other video projects for every sports team at Clemson.  Highlight videos, recruiting videos, content meant to engage the fans on stadium video boards and distributing content to local and national news media are only a part of the many other tasks performed by the Athletic Video Services Department.

Bagby began his video career in high school.  When not playing a sport he could be found behind a VHS camera recording content for the coaches to review.  In 1990 during his High School senior year he began working with the University of North Carolina football team operating a camera on game day Saturdays.

The following fall, Bagby began his career at North Carolina where he worked all four years as a student videographer for the football team earning 3 varsity letters. After graduating with a degree in Physical Education in 1995 Bagby took a year off from video to serve as a Tower Manager at Granville Towers in Chapel Hill.

He returned to the UNC football team as a video assistant in 1996.  Following that season, Bagby took an assistant video coordinator position with the University of Wisconsin football team in March of 1997.  A few months later Bagby was named to his first head position as the video coordinator for the University of Louisville football team.  Bagby enjoyed one year at Louisville before moving on to Clemson in May of 1998.

An avid golfer in his spare time, Bagby is married to the former JenniferRobinson.  They have two daughters, Payton and Taylor.
